Thoughts:
- Upgrading is the favorite pass time of many.
- We all want to improve in something.
- If something is not improving or changing, we say it’s boring.
- But we’re quite selective in what we want to improve.
- We only improve on the things that are important to us.
- But we often forget to improve in those areas that are really essential to our well being. One area is our spiritual disciplines, particularly in the area of prayer.
- Christ has changed the whole orientation of our lives, and this should affect the quality and focus of everything, including prayer. But sadly we don’t see the connection.
- We should be growing in the area of prayer, if it’s true that God has already changed the whole orientation of our lives. We should be focusing more on God’s purpose for prayer, which is basically outward, not inward. (Col 4:2-6)
- The reason why our prayer lives are not improving is because our orientation is still self-focused. We are still focused on earthly things!
- Remember, prayer follows the real orientation of your life. Level-up your prayer life.
