15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said. (Exodus 8:15)
When problems come our way, we are quick to cry out to God and ask for His help. But when there’s relief, do we remember Him at all? Sadly, we forget why the Lord allowed the trial to come into our lives in the first place. The Lord wants us to acknowledge Him regardless of our situations. Whether things are going well for us or we’re having a difficult time, God wants us to trust Him and submit to His purposes. We must not harden our hearts just because relief has come. God may indeed be gracious to us and He may deliver us in times of distress. But do not presume upon His grace. His kindness should lead you to repentance. If the Lord has answered your prayers, it is because He wants to show you mercy. Be humble and receive His help with gratitude. Then immediately turn from your wrong ways, if the Lord is telling you to do so. Obey Him if that is what the Lord is revealing to you today. Do not presume upon His grace.
