- Talk (sermon):
A. Take-off (intro)
Money talks. We listen. Often our world revolves around how we can earn more money, how we can spend it, and how we can keep it from disappearing while we spend it. The reality is that money exerts so much power in our lives. Fighting the lure of money is difficult. For others it might even be impossible. But as believers we must learn to resist the temptation of the love of money. Why?
B. Teaching outline (body):
- The kingdom of God is coming (vv.11-16).
- The kingdom of this world is passing (vv.17-19).
- The word of God is enduring (vv.20-21).
C. Touchdown (conclusion)
Real life is found in God’s kingdom, not in more income. We must not allow this world to shape our values. We must keep our focus on the coming kingdom of God, not in the passing kingdom of this world. This is the only way we can fight the good fight of faith.
