Thoughts:

1. The great commission necessitates that the church will grow. It is the by-product of our obedience to Jesus Christ.
2. Many churches are not growing. Some are even dying.
3. Some blame the external environment — persecution, worldliness, pluralism, etc.
4. Some point to poor leadership.
5. Others blame Satan or other demonic influences.
6. But Paul talks about the key to church growth — and it’s not found outside the church. The key is you and I.
7. He talks about two movements: a) unity within diversity and b) ministry leading to maturity. (Eph 4:1-16)
8. The church can only grow to maturity if everyone is united in ministry in spite of their diversity.
