Thoughts:

  1. Those who devote themselves to the preaching and teaching of the word of God are often in dire straits. This is bad news.
  2. Many people feel sorry for them.
  3. Even preachers feel sorry for themselves, especially when they compare themselves with others.
  4. But preaching the Gospel is the greatest privilege of all.
  5. Helping everyone understand God’s great plan for the world is a tremendous privilege.
  6. This plan involves uniting everyone under one head, Jesus Christ.
  7. This was what Paul considered a great privilege, and he did not feel sorry for himself, even though he was suffering in prison when he wrote this letter. (Eph 3:1-13)
  8. Preaching the Gospel is the highest privilege of all, and we must never feel sorry for those who are suffering in fulfilling that privilege.
  9. Telling people the good news is worth the bad news.
  10. Go tell the good news to others. It’s worth it. Talk to somebody.
